Shapes of farmer's markets located geographically in Chicago neighborhoods. The images on this World Wide Telescope map are markets sponsored through the City of Chicago.
Grocery Stores
To see the distribution of grocery stores throughout the Chicago area we added location pins on top of our Chicago food desert map. The data shows that there is a higher concentration of grocery stores on Chicago's North side closer to Lake Michigan with a good distribution spreading out to the West. he blue areas on the map are sections of Chicago that have been classified as food deserts. As the map indicates, there is a higher percentage of area covered in blue on Chicago's South and West sides.
